11 year olds Nathan Taylor and Lauren Roscoe have designed a new logo which people living and working in Marsh Green can display to show their pride in the estate.
The design will be unveiled at Marsh Green Primary School, where Year Six children recently took part in a workshop to create a visual identity for the estate. As well as being displayed at the school, it will appear at housing and residents’ association offices, the local community centre and St Barnabas Church. Community groups are expected to adopt it and individuals can wear pin badges to show their community spirit.
Work on the logo was commissioned by Wigan Council’s Marsh Green Neighbourhood Team and the local ‘priorities group’, and will appear on their local newsletter. Nathan and Lauren will each receive a £20 Asda gift card, while their classmates will each receive a £5 gift card.
