Introduction
Sheltered and Grouped Accommodation is available throughout the borough to people aged 60 years or over. It isn’t a nursing or residential care home. Everybody has their own front door. There is a Scheme Manager at most schemes and some schemes have a communal lounge and a laundry.

What is the difference between the types of schemes?
A Sheltered Scheme is made up of apartments and studio flats in the same block. The Grouped Schemes are made up of bungalows and apartments and a Sheltered and Grouped Scheme is a mixture of both. The schemes cater for older single people as well as couples. There are also great opportunities to join in the social activities or just sit back and watch the fun.
