What Is Sheltered Housing?

Sheltered and Grouped Accommodation is accommodation which caters for older people who are able to live independently.

Introduction

There is a Scheme Manager at most schemes. Some schemes have additional facilities such as a communal lounge or laundry. There are 48 sheltered and grouped schemes in the Wigan Borough each made up of between 10 and 50 bungalows, apartments or studios.
